Glowing with colour changing lights, a 4m diameter translucent sphere gently pulses to an atmospheric soundscape synced with the lighting. A fully automated sculptural installation, with a sequence repeated every 2 mins.

Slowly, and unbelievably, tentacles begin to extend from inside the sphere and expand outwards. The tentacles keep growing until the span reaches 8m across and the lighting glows brightly before they invert and slowly shrink back inside.

“Anemone” translates from the Greek as “wind flower” which well describes a piece that is given its structural integrity and in turn animated by, changing air pressure. The fabric lends an organic translucent quality and a gentle muscular presence.
