HYDRA
Multi-headed Serpent
Hydra is a 2.5m translucent cell with flaccid tentacles draped around it.
Glowing with colour changing lights, Hydra slowly expands as the ambient soundtrack increases in intensity.
Just as it reaches maximum size, the tentacles suddenly fly into the air and flailing 5 meters above, they wave frantically.

The movement subsides and the tentacles gently droop back to the sides of the cell and as if exhaling, the cell visibly shrinks. The sequence repeats on a 2 min loop.
Hydra was a nine headed creature from mythology and the name also describes a genus of microscopic water creatures who similarly are stimulated into waving their tentacles.
